When a resource string is changed, Sisulizer shows this as a "Row change" (red dot). Now the translators know that "something" has changed between the "previous original" and the "original" value. But they have to spot the differences on their own, which can be tedious, especially with multi-line text or a string that contains complicated syntax.

It would be helpful if Sisulizer could highlight the differences in a way similar to TortoiseSVN Diff. Maybe the "Text Editor" pane would be a good place for that.

Thanks,
Markus

Sisulizer stores previous original values in the project file (SLP) until removing changed status from specified rows (by menu or by editing). Those values could be displayed in sheet by "Previous Original" column. By default this column is invisible, but of course you can change it. Here is article about customization of sheet: http://www.the-localization-tool.com/is-the-translation-sheet-layout-customizable/
Currently, Sisulizer doesn't display detailed differences between current and previous original (like in your request), but displaying previous value next to current value directly in sheet can help.

Janusz

Well, this is precisely how the translators work at the moment. If needed they add the "previous original" column to compare with the current "original".
My point was that it is sometimes difficult to spot the exact change. Hence the feature request to somehow highlight what has changed.

This will be useful for me to.

I don't know what the option "Compare previous original with original" in Sheet Properties does

I think I would be already quite happy if I could start an external Diff Tool (of my choice) in order to see the difference.

One of my most wanted things in Sisulizer for many years.

I'm sure if you implement it (natively or at least via an external Diff Tool) a LOT of people will say a big thank you (of course after "oh my god it's finally there!").

Highlighting the difference between text versions has become de facto a standard feature in many localization or CAT tools because it helps prevent human error and saves translators' time and blood from their eyes.

Comparing text versions is a frequent necessity in agile development, and these days a missing feature like this can be one of the cons against choosing Sisulizer as their tool.

Hello Sisulizer team,

any news/updates regarding this feature request? I think it's pretty rare that a feature request gets that much support of other users here in the forum :-)

Thanks,
Markus

It's a decision R&D has to make. I'll remind them to think about it :-)

With 10,000+ views, this item is ranked 11 in the Wish list forum...
Is there a version 5.0 in sight which could include this feature?
