Hi,

I'm trying to localize a standard readme.txt text file with some content in it. I've used the "Plain text file" structure and added a segmentation for line breaks so that each line can be translated separately.
The problem is that the context for that file seems to be the line number and each time I add text somewhere in the original file, the whole translated content is wrong as lines have changed.
How can I handle such a case ?

John.

Hi,

we are discussing that internally.

There should be an option to use "By Value" since "By Context" is not reliable for text files with segmentation or "By Value" should be default for that situation.

Hello Markus,

So I understand you'll investigate this for a future update ?

Thanks,

John.

Dear John,

Yes, we are looking into this. Sisulizer should use "by value" for document localization.

Hello Markus,

is this new "by value" indexing represented in Sisulizer yet? Unfortunately we still use Build 344.

Best regards,
Frederik

Recent build uses only indexes for plain text source files with enabled segmentation. I'll ask our team about potential implementing By value context method in similar cases.

One note:
I found potential issue of this solution. In one plain txt file some sentences could occur several times. So with enabled segmentation and context based on value identical sentences (separated rows in Sisulizer sheet) get identical context, while context for each row should be unique.
