Hi, I'm working with a .net forms web application which was translated with the sisulizer UI with "Azeri, Latin" selected as the language. Several .resx and .dll files make part of the project and when built it outputs resource files for .az-Latn.resx and az-Latn*.resources.dll

However, when using SlMake.exe to add a .dll for lang:az-Latn it does not import up the az-Latn resources, and when I open the .slp the language states "Azerbaijani (Azerbaijan)" NOT "Azeri, Latin" as I would expect.

My question is how can I make SlMake.exe add the resources for az-Latn as "Azeri, Latin" and NOT "Azerbaijani (Azerbaijan)"?

Further info...
When using slmake.exe to add a .dll for az-Latn and build/create then it outputs "az-Latn-Latn"!

When using slmake.exe to add a .dll for "az" only and build, it outputs resources for "az-Latn", not "az".

I would expect "az" to output "az" and not "az-Latn", just as I would expect "az-Latn" to import & output "az-Latn" and NOT "az-Latn-Latn".

How can I get consistent input and output language codes when using slmake?

Hi,

Have you tried az as language code?

az az-Latn-AZ Azeri
az-Cyrl-AZ az-Cyrl-AZ Azeri (Cyrillic, Azerbaijan)
az-Latn-AZ az-Latn-AZ Azeri (Latin, Azerbaijan)

Markus

Hi Markus, thanks for your reply.
Yes, I have, and then importing for az-Latn works. But the thing is I'm trying to infer the language code to use from the compiled output, in this case az-Latn. I would have hoped to give slmake the same code so that "input and output" language codes are the same.

To give you a little more context of my situation... I'm trying to write a program to retrieve existing translations from a site. The site's translations might have changed by my client since it was installed (my client does the translations themselves). Then have slmake I export the site's translations and compare it to what is on record then update and rebuild the translations. So, if a site as "az-Latn" resources I want to be able to map that code to the relevant code for sisulizer to use without manual intervention.

Do you have a mapping table of sisulizer language codes to .net codes? Something like

az --> az-Latn
pt --> pt

this way I could easily lookup the correct language codes to use.

thanks!

Its a bit hard since there is no perfect list. Some languages changed their codes in .NET with new versions of .NET. In other word, but sorry we don`t have such list :-(
